A series of 6-8 treatments is usually recommended for optimum results, with 2-3
weeks in between for skin to recovery.
Seven days prior to treatment, discontinue using all alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing
glycolic or lactic acid),
salicylic acid products, retinoids
(Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide.

Expect After Microdermabrasion Treatment
After the first
microdermabrasion treatment, the complexion will have a pink or red glow, which typically fades after
a day. Redness may last slightly longer.
You may experience itchiness and a mild sunburn-like
sensation which can last up to two days afterwards.
You may also experience flaking, peeling and dryness of the skin – usually on the 3rd or 4th days after the
treatment, this is normal.
You must protect your skin every day with a full spectrum
sunscreen that protects both UVA and UVB with an SPF of 30 or higher.
For the first 24-48 hours,
use a mild cleanser and keep skin well hydrated. Drink plenty of water and apply
a good daily and nightly moisturizer.
Do not use glycolic, alpha hydroxy, beta hydroxy, retinol,
benzoyl peroxide or topical acne medications for three (3) days following treatment.
